Short CV

Charlotte Reiff works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Systematic Theology II (Ethics), Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. After finishing her studies in law and philosophy she worked as a research assistant at the Karl-Franzens University Graz. Since 2012 she worked at the Chamber of Labour at the social policy department on different national and international research projects (e.g. Providing Welfare through social dialogue which was funded by the European commission).
She is part of the MaxSynBio-Consortium which is jointly funded by the Max-Planck Society and the federal ministry of education and research. Within this project she develops an ethical and legal governance model in dealing with emerging biotechnologies.

  • governance and ethics of Bioscience and Biotechnology (with special regard to synthetic biology)
  • justification of moral norms
  • ontology and metaphysics
  • political theory, especially theories of social justice, social equality and social action
  • theory and sociology of law (Struktur und Funktion von Rechten, juristische Argumentation) und Rechtssoziologie (u. a. Formen sozialer Kooperation)
